In our short history, we have already seen the impact of our music with such events as the selling-out of Symphony Space during a deep economic crisis, and widespread cultural awareness among a consistently growing American audience. We have experienced the power of education through amazing heart, soul and commitment by musicians of all backgrounds, American and Arab alike, to learn this music, and witnessed the life-changing effect of our educational outreach on students of all ages. Now, we have even bigger dreams, to grow into a full academy for Arabic music, extending into the public school system of New York and universities around the world.
We are working toward our first grand benefit event come the Spring of 2010 to make this great goal a realization. As a non-profit in-progress, we are asking you now for your support to help us as we build ourselves towards this very important benefit, which include the needs of web design and promotion; print materials; media (video and photography); office space and recruitment of essential staff; and supporting the essential work of our creative director, Bassam Saba, to be able to devote all of his energy into this great organization as a teacher and conductor, and expand his ability to compose and arrange beautiful music.
